Sudoku with faces instead of numbers. Play with the presidents, or with your own family and friends. No ads, and free to play.
Works on Windows 10 and 11. No account, no internet needed to play.
What it is
Sudoku where every number is a face. A clean board, four levels, tiny pencil notes, no ads and no pop-ups. Play with the U.S. presidents, or put in the people you love.
Pick your 9 faces
Choose any 9 of the 45 U.S. presidents, from Washington to the present. Change them any time, even in the middle of a game. Prefer numbers? One tick switches back.
Pictures from friends
A friend can send you a small picture pack. Open it in the free game and you play with their 9 faces. The game shows who sent them.
Your own portraits (Key 1)
Add photos of family, friends and pets. Drag each picture so the face sits in the frame, give it a name, and it is ready to play. Then send your 9 to anyone as a small file. They can play it free.
Four levels
Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert. Every puzzle has exactly one answer and can be solved by reasoning, with no guessing.
Pencil notes
Switch Notes on and tiny faces go in the square as you work out where each one could go. When you put in a right face, it wipes that face from the notes in its row, column and box.
Check and undo
Wrong faces show in red right away (you can turn that off). Undo any move, erase a square, or press Check. Your game is saved when you stop.

One program for everyone. A key unlocks what you bought, once, for good. There are no subscriptions.

How to get it
- Download the programDownload the zip file, unzip it, and open SudokuPortrait.exe from the folder. The free game has no time limit.
- Like it? Email me to order a keyTell me your name, which key you want (Key 1, 2 or 3), and a friend's referral code if you have one. I reply with payment details.
- Paste your keyI email you the key. Paste it into the key box and press Unlock. You only do this once.

SudokuPortrait is a new program and is not code-signed yet. Click "More info", then "Run anyway".
What if I lose my key or get a new computer?
Paste the key from your email again. Keys never expire and do not need the internet. If you lose the email, write to me and I will send it again.
Does it save my game?
Yes. Each level keeps the game you were playing, so you can carry on later.
What counts as one of today's games?
Starting a new Medium, Hard or Expert game uses one of that day's games. Carrying on with a game you already started is free. A new day starts at midnight on your computer.
How do I send my pictures to a friend?
With Key 1, press "Choose my pictures", choose 9, then press "Send these 9 to a friend". Save the small file and email it. Your friend presses "Load pictures from a friend" in their free game, picks your file, and plays with your 9 faces. Your referral code shows as the sender.
Is there a phone version?
Not yet. SudokuPortrait is for Windows for now.
